Job summary
The States of Guernsey are seeking to appoint a Team Leader to join the team at the Emergency Department as part of Hospital Services. The Team Leaders are required to be enthusiastic, motivated and able to work under pressure without supervision. Ideally you will have at least 5 years experience working in an emergency department including Adult and Paediatric Resuscitation experience. We participate in the emergency rota to provide hospital-wide emergency teams for adults and paediatrics and as part of your responsibilities, you will be the lead nurse on behalf of the department. As team leader you will regularly take operational charge of the Emergency Department which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure in a diverse environment. As a band 7 leader you will be expected to be professional and be a role model to other staff and work efficiently alongside the ED doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team, demonstrating your ability to listen and support patients, families and staff.The post holder is expected to demonstrate portfolio evidence of training and development specific to emergency nursing, to include ALS/EPLS and ideally ATNC.
