Job summary
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Senior Nurse Practitioner for Eating Disorders to join the CAMHS team.
This role will provide nursing leadership within the Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and the role of nursing lead within the multi-disciplinary team approach to the management of clients in the service with eating disorders. They will also ensure practice is delivered safely and in accordance with the Care Quality Framework and policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
- To promote and deliver a high standard of care based on best practice to maintainpatient/service user safety and provide an excellent.
- To coordinate the assessment of patients/service users with complex needs includingindividuals with unconfirmed diagnosis.
- To coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of specialisedprogrammes of care utilising evidence and research.
- To lead a team of staff/provide specialist advice in acute and chronic situationsensuring that the patients/services users needs are met along with their supportnetwork.
- To ensure patient/service user involvement in the planning, delivery and evaluationof care, respecting their beliefs and dignity.
- To utilise data and information from a range of sources to identify patient/service usercondition to guide decision making.
- Within field of expertise and policy and where appropriate, request specific clinicaltests to establish a diagnosis.
- To undertake the role of health promoter and educator for patients/service users andtheir support networks.
- To ensure that professional standards are upheld by the staff members working withinthe postholders sphere of responsibility.
- To manage all incidents as per policy and participate in risk management and Qualityand Safety processes e.g SWARM.
- To be accountable for ensuring that safeguards are in place for patients/service usersand escalate any safety, safeguarding or risk concerns following the appropriateprocesses.
