Job responsibilities

• The post holder will provide specialist high-quality person-centred care which always considers peoples safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based.
• The post holder will monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research and education.
• The post holder will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service.
• The post holder will have line management, training and clinical supervision responsibilities for Military Medics, junior practice nurses, Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• The post holder will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and adhere to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) /DPHC policies and guidelines.

The interview may consist of a mix of direct questions and clinical situation-based scenarios.

The Interview will consist of Pre-planned Presentation of 20 mins, based on the areas in the KSF question will be shared with sifted candidates; and a Mix of direct questions and Clinical Situation based Scenarios.

The sift will be completed within 10 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed.

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

Experience

Essential

• Professional and specialist knowledge in primary healthcare acquired through post graduate degree/diploma or actively working towards this and can demonstrate equivalent level of competence and experience in clinical assessment and diagnosis)
• Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training
• Quality improvement methodology or willingness to undertake training
• Must be in date for Basic Life Support (BLS) Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Safeguarding Level 3 (Children and Adult depending on population at risk) or willingness to undertake training
• To be proficient in relevant Information technology (IT) systems subject to appropriate training being provided
• Registered non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake training
• Minimum of 3 year`s post registration experience working within Primary Healthcare
• Experienced and competent in history taking and physical assessment and the triage & treatment of minor injury/illness. immunisation, venepuncture, ear care, audiology, travel medicine, wound care, cervical screening
• Experience of leading and promoting health and well-being clinics i.e. smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse, sexual health
• Experience of providing care to patients with chronic illnesses e.g. Asthma, Family Planning, Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) and hypertension ensuring continued maintenance of the Chronic Disease Register (dependant on population at risk)
• Experience of having provided mentorship and/or coaching to other staff
• Evidenced of continuous professional development and the practical application of new skills to the work place

Desirable

• Experience in occupational health and military occupational health and musculoskeletal medicine
