The vacant post is part time working 23 hours per week. Tues and Wed 07:45-16:30 (60 min lunch break), Thu 07:45-16:15 (60 min lunch break).

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the post is to maximise the deployability of the Population at Risk for whom they are responsible.The job role will include non-clinical activities including practice meetings, training and personal admin and provide clinical outputs. Work should be directed towards improving and maintaining the dental health and operational fitness of personnel for whom you are responsible.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Inspecting all personnel for whom they are responsible at intervals in accordance with The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines and providing follow up treatment as required.
  • Providing an occupational oral health assessment, being fully conversant with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Dental Fitness categorisation and dental input into the Joint Medical Employment Standard for Service personnel.
  • Ensuring that contemporaneous notes are recorded on individuals integrated electronic healthcare records for all episodes of care.
  • Ensuring that surgery management, documentation including consumable stores, the safe custody of personal sensitive data and the maintenance of equipment is kept to a high standard at all times.
  • Onward referral of personnel to enhanced practitioners, specialists or consultants for treatment as appropriate.
