Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Manage own clinical caseload and proactively support the Service Person (SP) through their clinical pathway in accordance to best practice, current legislation, and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policy.
- To lead with change, monitor and improve clinical standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research, and education thus maximising OH outputs and optimising SP employability / deploy ability.
- Develop and teach OH staff, encouraging teamwork, and create an environment in which clinical practice is fostered, evaluated, and disseminated.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols, standards, policies, and clinical guidelines through interpreting and synthesising information from a variety of sources and promoting their use in practice.
- Monitor the effectiveness of all clinical practices through the quality assurance strategies, such as the use of audit and peer review.
- Actively support and where required, lead with achieving quality targets within the Healthcare Assurance Framework (HAF) and all other assurance activities.
- Deliver complex, specialist OH interventions (such as, implement and monitor Return to Work (RTW) plans), collaboratively with the service personnel, wider clinical team and the CoC.
- Monitor staffing levels proactively to ensure sufficiently skilled, experienced, and qualified members of the team are available during operating hours. Escalate shortfalls and enact business resilience planning as required.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

The post does NOT offer relocation expenses (move of home, excess fares or temporary transfer). Non-Standard move applicants will be eligible for the full package, subject to eligibility.
Please be advised that the Department is conducting a review of all pay related allowances which could impact on those allowances that the post currently being advertised attracts. this is needed because the benefits list that professional registration fees are currently reimbursed, which classifies as an allowance.
As a result of the changes to the UK immigration rules which came into effect on 1 January 2021, the Ministry of Defence will only offer sponsorship for a skilled worker visa under the points-based system, where a role has been deemed to be business critical.
