Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury area.

You willProvide full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, peer review and support to Junior/other physiotherapists and Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERIs) working within the Unit.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
  • Using clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
  • Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon current evidence, best practice guidelines, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
  • Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment and a good understanding of their condition in order to maximise rehabilitation potential.
  • Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively
