Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) based at Merville Barracks, Colchester seeks a Band 8a Regional
Nursing Advisor to be responsible for the strategic development of all nursing care to service
personnel and in some facilities, their families.

Main duties of the job
To work
collaboratively with Headquarters (HQ) Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), the
Regional Clinical Director (RCD), the Regional Operations Manager, Lead
Clinicians and key stake holders to ensure the efficient operational management
of DPHC ensuring that strategic aims are met. As the Senior Nurse for East
Region, the Regional Nurse Advisor (RNA) is to lead and develop the
professional practice of the Regions Nursing Team and be responsible for the
strategic delivery of all nursing care to service personnel and in some
facilities families, in line with the priorities of the Regional Headquarters.

The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing professional nursing leadership, direction and vision for the future of DPHC in conjunction
with regional HQ direction.
- As the successful candidate you will be regional lead for infection control and have line
management, education, training and clinical supervision responsibilities for junior colleagues across
the Region.
- You will act as a role model, offering clinical support and advice whilst acting within your
professional boundaries and you will have the opportunity to work clinically within the Medical
Facilities (MF), providing care for the presenting patient.
