Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Receiving, appraising, and advising on the direct referrals for mental health problems from relevant General Practitioners/Medical Officers GP/MO.
• Providing initial assessment and formulation of the mental health and treatment needs for referred patients, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with a high level of autonomy.
• Delivering up to date, evidence-based interventions for mental health problems based on guidance from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Treatment Agency (NTA), which can include individual, group and tele-therapy.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Nurse (Mental Health) with Nursing Midwifery Registered Council with a demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above.
• Experience of working in a Community Mental Health setting.
• Demonstrable experience of using NICE recommended psychological interventions.

Experience

Essential

• Substantial post-qualification training and experience in at least 2 evidence based psychological therapies and accredited or eligible for accreditation from a recognised body (BABCP, BACP, UKCP)
• OR
• Registered Mental Health Nurse with a demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above. Experience of working in a Community Mental Health setting. Demonstrable experience of using NICE recommended psychological interventions
• OR
• Must possess a Postgraduate/Graduate certificate in evidence based psychological treatments with demonstrable experience in a community mental health role.

Registrations and Memberships

Essential

• Registered with one the following regulatory bodies: NMC, HCPC.
