Job responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but aren't limited to:

• Ensuring their surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
• Maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.
• Managing the hastening, receipt, despatch and documentation of dental prosthetic appliances, ensuring timely appointments for patients are booked as necessary.
• Meeting the needs of the patients by monitoring, supporting and reassuring each individual according to their specific needs, providing appropriate advice when required. This may include recognising and interpreting behaviours, especially those associated with anxious patients and dealing with them accordingly.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Qualifications

• National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Certificate or NVQ in Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3.
• PLUS
• The successful candidate must hold 1 of the 5 additional qualifications:
• Oral Health Education Certificate, Dental Radiography Certificate, Orthodontic Dental Nursing certificate, Dental Nursing Sedation certificate, Special Care Dental Nursing certificate.
• Knowledge of range of dental procedures; acquired through training and experience to diploma level or equivalent plus knowledge of procedures in specialist area, e.g. orthodontics, maxillo-facial, health promotion, or equivalent level of experience.
