Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

• Receiving, appraising and advising on the direct referrals for mental health problems from relevant General Practitioners/ Medical Officers (GP/MO).
• Providing initial assessment and formulation of the mental health and treatment needs for referred patients, planning, implementing and evaluating care with a high level of autonomy.
• Delivering up to date, evidence based interventions for mental health problems based on guidance from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Treatment Agency (NTA), which can include individual, group and tele-therapy.

Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Mental Health Nurse or graduate level professional with background in mental health; substantial post-qualification training and experience in at least 2 evidence based psychological therapies and accredited or eligible for accreditation from a recognised body (BABCP,BACP, UKCP)
• OR: Registered Mental Health Nurse with a demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above.
• Experience of working in a Community Mental Health setting.
• Demonstrable experience of using NICE recommended Psychological interventions.
• OR:Must possess a Post graduate/Graduate certificate in evidence based psychological treatments with demonstrable experience in a community mental health role.
• Registered with one the following regulatory bodies: NMC, HCPC.

Essential

• Registered with one the following regulatory bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
