Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, organised, and enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our primary health care team at RAF Northolt, Ruislip. There is also an expectation that the Post Holder may be required to work across other sites within the Group Practice (current sites include Northolt and Northwood).

Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) provide a unique blend of traditional team based primary care and occupational health support to military personnel. DPHC also has a strong emphasis on education with numerous opportunities to train military medics, nurses, and Doctors.

This position offers 37.5 hours per week. The salary will be pro rata where the part time hours are undertaken and applications for part time or job share to cover these hours are welcome.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury areas.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
  • Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
  • Advising the Senior Medical Officer about specialist physiotherapy recommendations.
  • Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
  • Being responsible for the safe and competent use of all equipment, patient appliances and aids, attaining competence prior to use. Including the identification and reporting of work service requirements and repair needs within the department.
