Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring your surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
• Carrying out and record daily maintenance, servicing, and pre-use checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
• Prepare, mix, and handle dental materials in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Adhering to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations and Safety Data sheets.
• Meeting the needs of the patients by monitoring, supporting, and reassuring each individual according to their specific needs, providing appropriate advice when required. This may include recognising and interpreting behaviours, especially those associated with anxious patients and dealing with them accordingly.

Due to COVID 19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, which has to be worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP). The successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment.

• National Examining Board for Dental Nurse (NEBDN) Certificate or National Vocational Qualification in Oral Healthcare Dental Nursing Level 3.
