Job summary

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Civilian Medical Practitioner who will be working within our Primary Health Care team, here at RAF High Wycombe Walters Ash, Aylesbury.

The Medical Centre supports a population of 1600+. Providing Primary Healthcare to the entitled servicing personnel. There are a range of local amenities including a regular Bus service into High Wycombe and good train links into London.

This position is 18.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will provide primary and occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's (PMO/ SMO) objectives are achieved to optimise patient care.

The parent Unit is High Wycombe, however there is a requirement that the post holder will be required to work from our Network / Group Practice within the designated travel time.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
  • Maximising the levels of health, wellbeing and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met.
  • Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
  • Providing primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment.
  • Participating in audit, in accordance with both personal and practice development plans.
