Here at Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC), we are an inclusive and

personnel! We are looking for 4 friendly and well organised Band four Registered Civilian
Dental Nurses to join our teams in four locations.
Oneposition is at the Defence Dental Centre, Evelyn Woods Road, Aldershot.
One position is at HMS Nelson,Queen Street, Portsmouth.
One position is at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Haig Road, Camberley.
One position is at Royal Air Force, West End Road, Ruislip.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (0745 - 1645) with a 60 min break, 32 hours and Friday (0745 - 1315) 5.5 hours.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be providing clinical and administrative
support for the provision of dental care in Defence Primary Healthcare dental
centres, to enhance force generation and operational capability and minimise dental morbidity on operations.
You will be maintaining the standard and
cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which you are responsible,
reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
- Carrying out and recording daily maintenance, servicing and pre-user checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
- Ensuring a daily test radiograph is taken and processed with all findings reported in accordance with extant policies and signed off by a clinician or trained individual.
- Prepare, mix and handle dental materials in accordance with manufacturers instructions; adhering to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and Safety Data sheets.
- Ensure adequate stocks of consumable dental materials are available within the surgery, maintain an effective expiry list ensuring all expired materials are removed and replaced as required.

This role attract a Dental Nurse Retention Recruitment Allowance (RRA) £1500 Per Annum (p/a) or Pro Rota when part time (p/t). General Dental Council Annual Retention Fee reimbursed. On-Call Dental Nurse Allowance 2% of basic salary, allowance % is dependant on On-Call demand and level of rotation, restricted geographical locations are likely to be in higher demand. There is a requirement to be part of the regional on-call rota for out of hours dental emergencies. This commitment is dependent upon local arrangements and may vary. This commitment may also include travelling to dental centres within the region other than their normal place of work.
