We are looking for an organised, motivated and supportive Band 6 Primary Care Nurse to join our excellent team at Bovington Camp and Blandford Camp.

This post is primarily focused in the multi-disciplinary team based at Medical Facility Bovington but will include attendance at Royal School of Signals (RSS) Blandford to meet service and administrative need.

Main duties of the job
As the successful Band 6 Primary Care Nurse, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary
healthcare team delivering general
medical services and elements of occupational health to military
personnel.
The Primary Care
Nurse will work unsupervised, and is responsible for the delivery of
appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs,
medical screening and advice to patients within their professional competence
and be prepared to supervise and support junior members of the team.

Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Assessing the needs of patients against a recognised model of care,
implement and evaluate care ensuring patients receive care according to
practice guidelines and delegate care accordingly; this includes prioritising
treatment and care.
- Providing care to patients with chronic illnesses e.g.
Asthma, Family Planning, Diabetes, Chronic Heart Disease and hypertension
ensuring continued maintenance of the Chronic Disease Register.
- Assisting with clinical governance policy which includes clinical audit,
implementation of evidence-based practice, clinical supervision and risk
management.
- Delivering health promotion in health promotion clinics i.e. smoking
cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse, sexual health and flu campaign.
