This post offers the opportunity for base to be at the
Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) Donnington or Hightown Barracks at MHT Wrexham, we are looking for a
Band 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in and
experience of delivering structured group-based interventions. The post
requires someone with clinical dedication and an excellent team focus, who can
adapt to a new organisational culture whilst still adhering to the highest
standards of professional practice.

The post is part time offering 26 hours per week. The days and hours to be agreed by line manager and the chosen candidate. Please note the salary will be pro-rata where part time hours are undertaken.
Main duties of the job
DCMH are
multi-disciplinary teams comprising military and civilian professional staff
delivering an occupational mental health service to serving members of the
Armed Forces. We are looking for someone who has an interest in developing and
facilitating group-based interventions and having responsibility for monitoring
the quality of these interventions. Responsibilities also include individual
therapy which is (mainly) complex clinical presentations but youll also be
able to apply and develop your own areas of clinical expertise and interest.
We'll encourage you to contribute to supervision, audit, research, service
development & training activities locally and across the MOD as a member of
the Defence Clinical Psychology Service.

successful applicant for this role will work alongside a small team of psychology
colleagues but will also belong to a regional clinical network of psychologists
who work collaboratively to support practice and extend the service offer. We
routinely use remote video consultation which provides opportunities for hybrid
working. Although
the main base is the DCMH Donnington and there will be a required presence at
the main base, there may be some flexibility to work from other bases, although at times travel may be
required to fulfil the role fully. We would particularly welcome applications
from psychologists with accreditation in a NICE-recommended therapy for common
mental disorders. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills
with a new client group and become involved in unique roles and opportunities
within Defence Primary Health Care and the wider Defence Clinical Psychology
Service.
