Main duties of the job

Our chosen candidate will set out to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area including group therapy.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a high standard of physiotherapy delivery to Service personnel including highly specialist interventions in the muscular-skeletal/sports and training injury environment.
  • Providing a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high quality professional service.
  • Provide full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, including both individual and group based therapy.
  • Having professional and legal accountability to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Standards of Practice, Health Professions Council Standards of Proficiency, Conduct, Performance and Ethics, Ministry of Defence (MoD) local policies and or law in all aspects of practice.

  • Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by the Medical Officer (MO) or regional physiotherapy teams. Presentations may be diverse including complex and acute/chronic physical and psychological conditions plus sports injuries. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.

  • Working closely with an Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI) to deliver residential rehabilitation, in which assessments, treatments and classes are conducted on a group or individual basis.
