Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, organised, and enthusiastic Civilian Medical Practitioner (CMP) to join our primary health care team.

Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) provide a unique blend of traditional team based primary care and occupational health support to military personnel and sometimes their families. DPHC has a strong emphasis on education with numerous opportunities to train military medics, nurses and Doctors. There are also expanding opportunities to develop leadership and General Practitioners with Special Interest roles ( GPwSL).

The vacant post is a part-time position working 25 hours per week. Days of work are to be agreed with the Line Manager on appointment.

This post is located at Tidworth, however there is a requirement for travel to support our practice located at Middle Wallop.

Tidworth Medical Centre supports a Population at Risk of 12000, providing Primary Health Care to the entitled serving personnel and their families.

Andover and Salisbury are both accessible within 30 minutes. Tidworth has local amenities accessible within walking distance, and there is a regular bus service within the area.

Main duties of the job

Working in line with General Medical Council (GMC) standards the successful applicant will provide primary and occupational health care to the practice population. They will participate in governance, education, and quality improvement activities. They will attend unit welfare meetings when required to assist in the management of vulnerable personnel.
