Main duties of the job
As the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for the care of personnel referred to the PCRF with musculoskeletal injuries. To select, assess, diagnose and manage patients referred and coordinate onward referral as appropriate.With a special interest in musculoskeletal management. Assessing, diagnosing and treating complex patients referred for physiotherapy
including assessment and treatment planning.Leading the modernisation of the
clinical elements of the Rehabilitation Service Review, reviewing current
clinical guidelines and protocols. This is to be in accordance with Surgeon
Generals Policy Letters (SGPLs), Department of Health Plans (DHP) and
specifically the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Programme and associated
Defence Medical guidelines. Sharing in the development of a
Continuous Quality Improvement programme through clinical audit and liaise closely
with the OC Rehab Recovery Unit (RRU) and Senior Medical Officer (SMO)
regarding professional performance in accordance with Health and Care
Professions Council guidelines and governing core standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Taking an active role in the monitoring of clinical standards in the PCRF setting, through regular formal in-service training, watched assessments, review of complex patients, group practical sessions, tutorials and caseload reviews.
- Advising and supervising all members of the clinical team to ensure efficient case management for ITC PCRF patients.
- Active participation and attendance at in-service training sessions, Special Interest Group and Clinical Governance Meetings where audit, research, service and policy development and presentations are conducted within the multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Lead the development of protocols to improve the clinical development and efficacy of clinics and Special Interest Groups.
