Job summary

To be the lead advisor for the People support function within the People Operations team, to ensure all contact is triaged and support/guidance is given to staff, managers and customer base, sign posting to People Business Partners as necessary. To ensure the Support team provide a high-level professional service which includes policy help and general people support issues.

To ensure the SCW Managers have support in all first line People life cycle matters. To support as and when required to deputise for the Improvement and Development Lead for People Lifecycle needs.

To oversee the Job Evaluation Service (JE) and to be the Management JE Lead - working in collaboration with Staff Side JE Lead to support evaluators, address poor habits, and devise JE strategy

Main duties of the job

The primary aim of the People Advisor Operations r role is to provide support and guidance to the Team to enable the provision of service support to SCW and customers

The role will also be the management JE lead, working in conjunction and collaboration with the Staff Side JE lead to manage the day to day job evaluation service requirements being the point of escalation for complex JE queries.

You will be responsible as line manager to aligned assistant People Advisors.

About us

This is an agile role and can be undertaken anywhere in the UK but with a requirement to attend the SCW estate as and when required.

The post holder will report to the People Support Lead, Senior Responsible Officer for SCW's JE service. Working collaboratively and in partnership with the staff side JE lead.

To manage the lifecycle support team in the triage of all People issues that are communicated via telephone, email, and face to face providing a suitable solution.

Provision of mentor and preceptor of managed staff ensuring all communications are checked and audited to ensure the high-level service.

Provide specialist HR advice and support to managers and Staff.

Development and provide statistical information for KPI reporting.

Development and delivery of People lifecycle support and guidance

Management of people Support Team providing mentorship and guidance.

Nurture key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally.

To provide management side strategic overview of SCWs JE service in collaboration with SCWs Staff Side JE Lead and People Support lead.

In collaboration with the Staff Side JE Lead conduct audits and surveys on the evaluator pool ensuring consistency and competence addressing any evaluation misunderstandings or inconsistency providing coaching and training.
