Job summary

We are looking for candidates who are keen to apply your knowledge of Quality Improvement to a National programme at pace, supporting a regional patch, you will be part of a small but dynamic national team supported by national QI Leads.

The post holder will be expected to support individual gender servicesto deliver towards the Quality Improvement Initiative working on the Gender Programme within NHS England's Specialised Commissioning, leading on extensive gender improvement projects and workstreams from within NHSE Specialised Services under the direction of the Quality Improvement Leads. This is a high profile, complex transformation change programme necessitating dedicated local and national support, including close working with several critical partners, providers, and other stakeholders.

The regional teams are- 'North' covering Newcastle, Leeds and Sheffield up to 3 posts; 'Central' covering Nottingham and Northampton up to 2 posts; and 'South' covering London and Devon up to 2 posts. (A total of 7 x 0.6WTE)

Benefits:

  • Band 8A (£53,754 - £60,503 pa pro rata) - dependent on experience and the number of years worked within the NHS

  • Hybrid role with flexibility for home working, with frequent visits to providers and some national network meetings.

  • 12-month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment, 3 days week (22.5 hours per week)

Main duties of the job

In April 2024, NHS England announced a national review of the NHS-commissioned Gender Dysphoria Services for adults, with the review due to conclude in early 2025. The outcome will inform the development of a new service specification for adult gender services.The post holders will play a pivotal role as part of both national and local teams to address the immediate findings of this review, contributing to the establishment of a National Quality Improvement Network for adult gender services.

This is a high profile, complex transformational change programme and this role will be strategically important for the programme of change, working in a multi-disciplinary, cross-function team, leading and shaping improvements to future service delivery within the gender services.

You will be expected to work on a range of projects considering financial, operational, and quality aspects to drive sustainable improvement and deliver the best outcomes for patients on the gender pathway.
