Job summary

We are looking for a talented individual to join the Direct Commissioning Integrated Business Intelligence Team; someone who has a drive and passion in delivering an exemplar service and who would like to progress a career in this profession.You will possess excellent numerical skills, a methodical approach, a high degree of accuracy in their work and the ability to prioritise work. A strong working knowledge and use of Microsoft SQL and Excel is essential as is line management experience.You will be required to provide analytical support and insights to a range of regional stakeholders, regularly engaging in regional and national forums to ensure standardisation and consistency where appropriate. It will include the development of dashboards and ad-hoc reporting utilising a range of technical tools.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are to provide data and insights, in relation to NHS England Direct Commissioned Services and NHS England Delegated services, to a range of stakeholders. It require a strong technical skill set, including SQL and dashboard development and the ability to confident liaise with and manage a range of stakeholders.

  • Lead analytical support to members of clinical reference groups (and other direct commissioning clinical forums) to aid service re-design and build the case for pathway convergence.
  • Keep abreast of technological developments and consider the most appropriate tool for the specific task at hand.
  • Will ensure all Ad-Hocs(including regional) reporting requests are logged, quality assured and delivered to agreed scheduled.
  • Will assist the Head of Commissioning Analysis/Senior Manager Commissioner Analysis to effectively support deep dive work programmes, financial recovery programmes, Improving Value schemes, QIPP, clinical service reviews and other regional / national work streams.
  • Will identify and explore reasons for clinical variation utilising nationally produced tools (where they exist) to identify the variation: performing further focused analysis to identify possible reasons for the variation.
  • Will lead the commissioning analysis team to work with a broad spectrum of information from a wide range of sources presenting complex and sophisticated information in a meaningful way to increase organisational knowledge and enable evidence-based decisions.
  • Will lead the commissioning analysis team to utilise modelling and forecasting techniques to predict future need and demand.
  • Will lead the commissioning analysis team to present findings of complex investigation and analysis and recommendations in a clear and intelligible form as presentations or written reports, suitable for a wide range of lay and professional audiences.
