Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our AGEM End Device Team and we are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and hardworking experienced End Device Technical Lead to join our team.

To take the lead on day-to-day management and strategic development of the Arden & GEM End Device Estate.

The estate is made up of 40000+ devices from supported areas; Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Essex, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire.

Main duties of the job

Takes a specialist lead for the control of IT end device assets in all AGEM areas, specifically in the key services of the EDM team which include, but not limited to, patching, central device build, application packaging and deployment, software lifecycle, MDM, encryption and security.

Systems used to maintain services:

Ivanti Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune, Group Policy, Dameware Remote Everywhere, MBAM, Sophos Central.

To investigate complex enquiries providing assistance and advice as required to AGEM and clients.

Provide Senior EDM Support and supervision to other members of the team.

Take a lead on the transition to the new technologies outlined in AGEM IT Strategic Roadmap.

About us

The End Device Team is part of the Infrastructure department which includes the Network and Server Teams .

The team is made up of great characters and have a good work ethic, whether that be in groups or working on their own initiative. Some members of the team have 10 plus years experience working in this environment.

This a full-time position.

You will hold a full driving licence

Applicants must be based in or near one of the regions supported by AGEM (Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Essex, Norfolk & Waveney and Northamptonshire) and able to work from AGEM offices in one of the regions.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Takes the lead on day to day management of any and all EDM functions

Providing senior EDM support and supervision to other members of the team for incident, service requests, small works and project tasks.

Reviewing the current allocated EDM related work load for the team and ensuring that all planned work is moving forwards in a controlled and efficient manner. Escalating when required to the EDM Manager any likely breaches of agreeed deadlines.

Working with customer IT leads; nominated project leads; 3rd parties and other stakeholders to discuss technical service issues and agree plans and deadlines. Occasionally working as a lead on such matters on behalf of the wider Technical Operations Team before discussing and allocating tasks related to such issues with the other teams.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on EDM technologies & features as well as potential integration and added value with other services. Using this knowledge to facilitate or unblock delays in progress of issue resolution & project development as well as defining road-maps and upgrade paths for these services.

Ensuring on a daily basis that suitably skilled team members are allocated to appropriate work streams and tasks and that proper paths for supervision have been identified and implemented. Dealing, as required, with any staff performance and disciplinary issues.

Reviewing, in part, the work of others, ensure that project plans; quotes and resource plans are in place for all work streams to maintain predictable work package and project deadlines and budget compliance.

Working with others, take responsibility for the capacity & availability management of the EDM functions. Develop with others; robust capacity & performance reporting techniques and escalate any appropriate breaches of agreed thresholds to the EDM Manager according to such procedures.

Occasionally deputising for the EDM Manager during periods of absence or standing in at certain planned meetings.

Performing policy reviews in accordance with our annual review cycle and working with other teams in and external to our department where such policies cross their area of influence. Working with the EDM Manager to ensure that policies are fully implemented; understood and followed within own team.

Defining and implementing procedures and processes for the relevant EDM functions to support the development of service ownership withing the Infrastrcutrure teams.
