Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Developer within the Business Intelligence team.

This is a new role within the team identified to support existing projects and the development and implementation of new cloud-based technologies. You will support and lead on exciting and always interesting projects using your technical expertise as a key member of the development team and have the opportunity to shape and guide existing work and new projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team with opportunity to develop skills and implement new technologies as we look to develop the data platform and support national developments.

You will have experience working with large datasets and experience of working with a range of data products and platforms.

Main duties of the job

You will be working with Lead Developers in the Development team as well as colleagues across the wider Business Intelligence Team. You will provide technical advice and support and the opportunity to implement and improve processes and methodology where necessary.

As a Senior Developer you will have experience working in a similar data environment and delivering complex ETL/ELT processes. You will be able to manage the workload of yourself and the team and be able to communicate issues to a range of audience as required.

You will be a valuable member of the Business Intelligence team, supporting the development of the work the being delivered and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Responsibility for the design, implementation, testing, deployment and support of a range of BI solutions.

Design and improvement of ETL/ELT and Delta processing models.

Develop and maintain effective data quality, integrity, validation and monitoring processes.

Responsibility for debugging and troubleshooting SQL and BI tools, systems and software.

Lead the design and development of SSIS packages and Azure Data Factory pipelines.

Build and maintain data pipelines and ensure our products are robust, performant, safe and cost effective.

Ensure that proportionate security and data protection protocols are incorporated into solution designs.

Contribute to the upgrades, migrations, and enhancements of the data warehouse to new platforms and solutions.

Continuous exploration and experimentation of new technologies to improve existing designs, solutions and platforms.

Responsibility for maintaining solutions within source code repositories.

Proactive in the deployment of solutions into a fully managed and maintained operational environment following appropriate release and change control.

Fully document all reports and systems developed.
