An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the changing shape of Primary Care within South Sefton. Due to current pressures on the day to day of general practices, the PCN provide support to General Practice across South Sefton and support its members through the Admin Hub.
Ultimately the roles within the Admin Hub free up time for practices to provide a more interpersonal service to its patients. Simultaneously this lays the groundwork for practices to work closely together, eventually standardising workflow and allowing specific tasks to be completed remotely. Primarily, however the role is there to ensure patients receive the most accurate and up to date care they need.
The roles are full time (37.5 hours p/w), or part time working remotely from the PCN offices in Bootle with occasional home working. There may also be a requirement to work within general practices across South Sefton.
Main duties of the job
As stated, the successful applicants will focus on alleviating the general admin workload on the staff across South Sefton General Practices. This will require a flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritise and manage a variety of tasks.
General administrative duties include:-
- Utilising systems such as EMIS
- Summarising patient records
- Scanning patient identifiable data onto their individual healthcare record
- Coding GP requests for patient healthcare journey - ensuring the correct SNOMED codes have been assigned to patient documents.
- Assisting practices with a backlog of coding tasks, scanning and summarising.
- Recall tasks: running searches to find patients that are due to revisit their practice for a blood test, bowel screening etc.
- Providing remote digital support for patients and practices, ensuring patient data is up to date and correct.
- Providing EMIS logins for PCN staff
