Job summary

Exciting opportunity for an Application Developer on afull time permanent basis to join the Digital Innovation Unit (DIU) of the NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU (NHS MLCSU). This opportunity has arisen from the ongoing success DIU are experiencing within the digital transformation of health and care services.

DIU are leading on the cutting edge of digital technology. This is an opportunity to be actively involved in developing and maintaining solutions to support the transformation of health and care services including:

  • working on projects with a national footprint alongside our colleagues from NHS England, NHS Improvement and NHS Digital.
  • the application of BOT (Robotic Process Automation, Chatbot etc...) technologies
  • the use /implementation of the latest programming languages and frameworks

The location of this role is flexible due to agile working arrangements including working from home although occasional travel may be required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will play a supporting role in the production of high quality applications for internal and external customers of the CSU working alongside the teams developers and broader teams colleagues gaining real world practical experience in software development and coding. The post holder is required:

  • to have experience in some of the following programming languages; C#, DotNet (4.8, core 3.1, 5 or 6), TypeScript, JavaScript and T-SQL,and the following frameworks: Entity Framework, ASP.NET, MVC, Angular, JQuery, Bootstrap and or Material.
  • to have some experience in the following specialist application software:Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • to have some experience in working with DevOpsto produce software using the agile development methodology.
