Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join a newly established insight and impact team within NHS Horizons. This is an exciting opportunity for a leaders from academia, the commercial, voluntary, public sectors and/or wider NHS, to take our insight and impact work to the next level.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Associate - Insight and Impact will work closely with the Head of Insight and Impact to lead and support aspects of how we continue to develop our novel approach to rapid insight generation. This includes working with volunteers to draw out actionable insights with impact and working across the NHS Horizons team to capture the difference we are making.

This is a crucial role, with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high priority projects and programmes impacting on key priorities for the NHS.

Essential

  • Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.
  • Experience of leading learning processes or implementing evidence-based changes to strategy or intervention delivery.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced environments with set deadlines.
  • Management experience.

Desirable

  • Good understanding of one or more of the following areas: -health and social care environment -large-scale change -public sector innovation -learning health systems.
  • Experience in a research and evaluative setting.
  • Experience of conducting and/or commissioning evaluation(s).
  • Previous experience of successfully generating fee earning commissions

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to master's level OR educated to degree level with equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

Desirable

  • Proven leadership experience and/or formal management qualification.

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to synthesise and share highly complex findings in a way which is clear, succinct and influential.
  • Ability to work with senior clients to design and deliver complex programmes of work
  • Analyse and interpret highly complex data, and be able to interpret this data into actionable insights
  • Standard Keyboard skills. Comfortable using Microsoft standard package, but also new collaborative tools like canva, jamboard, miro etc
  • Manages own time, working flexibly to prioritise responses to wide range of competing demands
  • Will use specialist knowledge to interpret and implement national policies to improve the service.

  • A skilled facilitator, with the confidence and expertise to manage the flow of meetings.
  • Understanding of the principles and methodologies of evaluation
