The County Durham Commissioning Delivery Team are part of an integrated commissioning team with colleagues from the ICB (Integrated Care Board) and from adult and children's social care at Durham County Council. We work side by side to take a joined-up approach to mapping services and work together to improve them to better meet the needs of the population of County Durham.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Commissioning Support Officer will provide a key supporting role to the Commissioning Delivery Manager to provide commissioning expertise in planning and service transformation. They will have a key role and focus in respect of the commissioning agenda within the ICB and will work closely with constituent practices across all care groups.

Senior Commissioning Support Officers will contribute to and in some instances lead the following functions in relation to planning and service reform:

Undertake service reviews, make recommendations for change, and ensure actions are implemented

Re-design of care pathways across all areas

Lead/support large scale transformation initiatives working with a range of external partners as required within their workstreams

Lead/support the implementation of specific time limited projects as required within the Integrated Commissioning Team, and ensure priorities are effectively delivered to time and budget.

Developing, implementing and monitoring action plans including QIPP

  • A strong and relevant track record that demonstrates success.
  • Practical experience in facilitating change in service delivery through motivating others.
  • Proven record of finding innovative solutions to highly complex problems.
  • Experience of implementing evidence based service reform and services innovation.
