NECS Consultancy offers bespoke management consultancy expertise to a range of clients across health and social care, and we are recruiting a Principal Consultant to join our Consultancy Team.

As part of our Consultancy team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality consultancy services to NHS and social care customers. Projects range from working with local acute NHS Trusts to large-scale change and improvement with NHS England.
You will also deliver internal initiatives which contribute towards the success of our Consultancy strategy, such as helping us to diversify our customer base and supporting team development through training and a value-led culture.
Main duties of the job
Able to engage with customers at a senior level to become a trusted advisor.
Analyse and resolve complex issues through negotiation and conflict resolution.
Make complex presentations to large groups of varied stakeholders.
Manage a broad range of concurrent programme activities.
Day to day management of team members including line management responsibilities.
Budget and performance management of programmes and regional team.
Develop strategic performance and improvement plans.
Support bids, proposals, and pitches for new consultancy work.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Cover for senior team members.

The post has a pivotal role to play in the contribution to the development of the NECS Consultancy Business Unit and will be responsible for managing and monitoring allocated projects within the Consultancy arm.
Principal Consultants will support the life cycle of engagement with their client base and will be involved in developing areas such as health care reforms, supply chain management & procurement, organisation and process redesign or business intelligence.
The postholder will lead specific projects as directed by the core team. They will be responsible for their setup and delivery supported by other staff within the consultancy team.

- Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through Masters level qualification, or equivalent experience.
Experience

- Extensive consulting/operational experience in one of the areas outlined below or equivalent experience within the public or private sector working with clients and organisations:
- 1.A large consultancy firm working on projects in the public and or private sector.
- 2.A niche consultancy firm specialising in NHS or Public sector assignments.
- 3.An NHS commissioning or commissioning support organisation supporting the transformation and reform agenda.
- 4.A provider organisation supporting the transformation of patient service, governance or compliance.
- Significant range of experience managing the life cycle of an engagement project with a client.
- Experience of managing multiple complex projects to a successful conclusion.
- Ability to forge long-term working partnerships with individuals and groups from internal and external departments and organisations.
- Experience in managing key elements of transformational projects in two or more of the following areas:
- 1.Strategic direction and the delivery of the NHS transformation and the Integrated Care Systems.
- 2.Performance Improvement, innovation & change management in patient facing and back-office processes.
- 3.Capability building in commissioner & provider organisations.
- 4.Business intelligence including analytics to support outcomes-based commissioning and pathway redesign.
- 5.Financial performance & cost management to support the effective control of resources in the context of achieving best outcomes within a budget.
- 6.Healthcare supply chain transformation & full value procurement to drive value and cost improvements in the context of outcomes.
