Job summary

Following promotion of the current postholder a secondment opportunity is available to join the AACC (CHC) Finance team as a Band 3 Finance Officer. The post is based in John Snow House, Durham, and will work on a hybrid basis.

The CHC Finance Team provides financial services to NENC ICB which includes monthly financial reporting, annual budget setting, monitoring of local authority recharges and payment of individual packages of care.

The secondment is to 31st March 2024.

The successful candidate will:

Produce monthly schedule payments to suppliers for individual packages of care and any other ad hoc payments as required.

Support in the financial coding of individual packages and other data requirements as necessary for financial reporting and payments

Perform client account reconciliations in response to supplier queries.

Support in the completion of local authority recharge reconciliations.

Main duties of the job

Provide the Finance Team with transactional finance services to allow the production and delivery of specific financial reporting requirements, ensuring all aspects of financial management and control are maintained at a high level.

Provide administrative and clerical support to the team where required.

Contact internal stakeholders and external clients to resolve queries.

Ensure all financial information provided is timely, accurate and relevant and is produced in accordance with the relevant reporting timetable.

Provide and receive routine information, which may be sensitive or may requiring tact or persuasive skills to managers, including non-financial managers.

Discuss routine financial queries with internal stakeholders and external clients, which are often complex and sensitive.

Display good verbal and written communication skills to convey routine financial issues, to support decisions to the subject in hand.

Support with external audit and internal audit to resolve the majority of issues at the earliest stage.
