Job summary

An exciting opportunity is now available to join the ICT team in the role of Lead Network Architect.

Main duties of the job

Developing and maintaining the overall system architecture and technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and programme objectives.

Leading the design and development of complex systems, including the creation of detailed technical specifications and architectural diagrams.

Conducting technical assessments providing feedback to development and engineering teams to ensure adherence to best practices and maintainability.

Documenting solutions and their components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards, and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.

Ensuring the services, delivery and developments can meet all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements as well as aligning with the organisation's strategy and that they maintain operational and cost effectiveness.

Working with technology partners/suppliers to define detailed technical specification for solutions to meet project and customer design requirements.

Providing consultative advice and professionalism when engaging with all individuals, services, teams and stakeholders.

Ensuring all solutions have detailed deployment plans and operational handover documentation.

  • Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist or Health Informatics area.
  • Evidence of specialist knowledge over several disciplines acquired through training and experience over an extended period, e.g. operational, cyber, cloud, development, commercial, data management etc.
  • Significant evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable

  • Member of a relevant professional body.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience and understanding of a range of enterprise technologies and architectural level knowledge.
  • Experience of direct line management and role management and skilled in delivering results through managing others
  • In depth experience in securing new business and marketing services
  • Experience of operational service delivery to recognised and accredited principles within complex organisational / multi-organisational settings
  • Proven experience in the architecting solutions in complex pan-organisation environments
  • Proven track record of delivery as a technical specialist in your field
  • Previous responsibility for a budget or involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes.
  • Experience of working with 3rd party organisations and delivery of complex programmes and/or outsourcing
  • Experience of utilising research and development to advance service delivery and product development.
  • Proven experience of on-boarding new services and/or establishing new business operations.
