Main duties of the job
Managing the delivery of various technical activities to provide a high quality, performant service.
Meeting agreed internal and external KPIs associated with the service.
Overseeing routine service and performance management arrangements to report against contracts and SLAs with customers.
Maintaining and managing NECS' management system ensuring that processes, policies and Standard Operating Procedures are kept up to date, ratified and cascaded where appropriate.
Providing guidance and expert advice required within the role and support internal and external customers in ensuring compliance.
Prioritising the delivery of improvement and transformational activities including allocation of resources and realisation of benefits.
Maximising the use of the organisations ITMS, DevOps and associated toolsets/capability.
Working with technology partners to define detailed technical specifications for solutions to meet project and customer requirements.
Overseeing the delivery of service and system maintenance activity often undertaken outside normal working hours.
Maintaining an accurate Service Catalogue outlining the breadth of services NECS deliver for current and prospective customers.
Leading on the mobilisation of services to new customers.
Empowering users of the service to be self-sufficient in meeting their technology needs.
Maintaining effective ITIL/DevOps processes and procedures in line with industry best practice.

- Educated to master's level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist or Health Informatics area.
- Evidence of specialist knowledge over a number of disciplines acquired through training and experience over an extended period, e.g., operational, cyber, cloud, development, service management, procurement etc.
- Significant evidence of continued professional development.
Desirable
- Member of a relevant professional body.
Experience
Essential
- Experience and understanding of a range of enterprise technologies and architectural level knowledge.
- Experience at senior management level in a large, complex customer facing organisation.
- Expert knowledge of ITIL/DevOps practice.
- Experience of direct line management and role management and skilled in delivering results through managing others.
- Experience of operational DDaT service delivery to recognised and accredited principles within complex organisational / multi-organisational settings.
- Previous responsibility for a budget or involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes.
- In depth experience in securing new business and marketing services
- Experience of working with 3rd party organisations and delivery of complex programmes and/or outsourcing.
- Experience of utilising research and development to advance service delivery.
- Proven experience of on-boarding new services and/or establishing new business operations.

- Strong understanding of the structure of the NHS and the challenges facing healthcare provision in the United Kingdom.
- Knowledge ISO 20001, ISO 9001, ISO 27001.
