An exciting opportunity is now available to join our data management and digital application development team in the role as a Full Stack Data Engineer.

Working within a team of data engineers, solution developers and technical experts, the Full Stack Data Engineer will support the provisioning of data platforms and tooling underpinning numerous corporate and customer facing services alongside associated reporting.

We offer hybrid working in this role meaning that the successful candidate can work from a mixture of locations including home, NECS offices and customer locations.

This role will be responsible for:

Support the data development processes at all stages from conceptualisation to designing, developing building and testing data pipelines for production using agile methodologies.

Supporting the design and development of data feeds to integrate products and services via APIs or similar.

Developing pipelines in code and following standard modern code development practices such as CI/CD using python and spark.

Integrating pipelines with other aspect of our data processing environment including data catalogues, data lineage, and logging and monitoring.

Developing aggregate data views for use by Internal and external teams.

Developing data transformation routines from both complex technical specifications and natural language agreements.

Supporting the development of logical data models and schema to enable consistent analysis across the NHS and social care.

Implementing reports and dashboards within platforms (wheresupported), collaborating closely alongside other specialists if complex modelling and machine learning is required.

  • Professional qualification at degree level in an information related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable

  • Microsoft Certified Specialist.

Experience

  • Significant experience in manipulation of complex data, data processes, products and platforms.
  • Extensive experience in automating data processing routines through specialist software, scripting and bespoke development tools.
  • Experience of operating within a formal and structured data environment utilising formal change control arrangements.
  • Experience in analysing and documenting processes and requirements to inform the design of solutions.
  • Experience in integrating solutions using data pipelines.

Desirable

  • Experience in manipulation of health and care data.
  • Experience in quality and safety management standards.
  • Experience in using Cloud based services.
