The NECS Applications Training Team deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of services across the NHS and beyond. Not only are we expert in devising and delivering end user training, we also develop award-winning online resources, can turn our hand to applications development and also publish custom video content alongside other broadcast services.

The team have recently expanded and diversified and are now facilitating the deployment of three brand new IT systems that are having a direct impact on the NHS COVID backlog, helping optimise the discharge of patients from secondary care, and transforming national cervical screening services.

Can you help us? If you are experienced in delivering adult training (not necessarily IT-related), have a "can do" attitude and combine an agile and professional outlook with an appetite to learn and develop yourself we'd love to hear from you.

We would especially be keen to receive applications from people who have previously used video editing software and/or are familiar with e-learning development tools.

The successful candidate can work from a mixture of locations including home, NECS offices and customer locations.

Main duties of the job

Working with the wider team and subject matter experts to create a variety of learning materials to support numerous projects and programmes.

Delivery of high quality and professional training, both face-to-face and remote, to a range of stakeholders and NHS colleagues.

Liaison with systems developers, providing suggestions and constructive feedback on new applications as they are deployed and developed.

Assessing the best tools and methods to engage different audiences and ensure that knowledge is transferred, and new skills are attained.

Ensuring their own knowledge on new systems, and the associated learning materials, and always up-to-date.

Experience

Essential

  • Full understanding of National Strategies and ICT related legislation e.g. National Programme for Information Technology (NPfIT), Connecting for Health, Caldicott, Registration Authority Policy, Freedom of Information, Data Protection Act.
  • Ability to attain and understand specialist knowledge of new clinical systems.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office Specialist training delivery within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience of primary care based clinical information systems.
  • A good understanding of the ways in which healthcare professionals use information in support of patient care.

Desirable

  • Experience of working across organisations and with other agencies.
  • Formal training qualification.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level education or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Microsoft Office Master certification in Office 2010 or later.
  • Knowledge of Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate (or other eLearning authoring software).
  • Advanced knowledge of other Microsoft packages including Windows, Internet Explorer and OneNote.
  • Knowledge of more specialist software tools such as Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.

Desirable

  • Knowledge/awareness of some (or all) of the following:

  • EPM Live.
  • Bizagi Process Modeller.
  • Crystal Reports.
