Apprentice Administration Officer

An exciting opportunity is now available to join the Digital Transformation and Optimisation Service in the role of an Apprentice Administrative Officer on up to a two-year fixed term contract.

Please note that this is a band 4 position but the first year of the apprenticeship you will receive 70% of the salary and then 75% in the second year.

The ethos of the Service is to inspire through digital transformation and optimisation of systems and new ways of working.

We are looking for candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds that can evidence how their qualifications, skills and experience will contribute to NECS values and strategic goals.

The apprentice programme is designed to ensure you are exposed to a range of work experiences and skill development opportunities. You will complete a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship and be provided with support to develop in role from a variety of sources including your line manager and a mentor.

Main duties of the job

This role will be responsible for:

Providing a comprehensive, efficient administrative service.

Maintaining realistic and manageable diaries.

Managing incoming communications (email, telephone) and analysing / highlighting / prioritising key points for follow-up.

Assisting in the production of reports, presentations, spreadsheets and questionnaires

Arranging and attending meetings/events (internal and external), set up any rooms/equipment required, and accurately record and minute proceedings / decisions.

Receiving, processing and/or providing sensitive / confidential information which requires a high level of tact.

Communicate complex and sensitive information with a range of staff internally and externally.

Undertake project work, assurance and governance as directed with minimal supervision for internal/external customers.

Carry out duties as agreed with the Senior project Support Officer.

To be successful in this role you will need:

To be an organised and motivated team player with a great eye for detail

5 GCSE's or equivalent including Mathematics and English or equivalent experience

To be able to manage work priorities in a busy office environment to ensure deadlines are met

To be able to use your own initiative effectively

To be able to communicate and interact with staff at levels of the organisation and present yourself in a professional manner.

  • RSA III typewriting (or equivalent).
