We have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Podiatrist to join our friendly and supportive team working in the Bridgend area. The role will offer the opportunity to use and develop your leadership and management skills, along with your professional clinical skills and experience.

As Team Lead, you will lead a small team of Podiatrists within the Bridgend area, working with the Assistant Head/Clinical Lead supporting the safe and effective provision of care. You will help plan and undertake service delivery, risk management, clinical governance, team learning and personal development reviews etc. helping to support and develop the team and the service.

Clinical sessions will include assessing and treating a range of podiatric pathologies, wound management, referrals for nail surgery and other onward referrals, all underpinned by providing patient self-management support.

Main duties of the job

Fulfil the role of Team Leader within the Podiatry Department.

Take the lead for clinical governance issues within the team, promoting clinical audits and driving the quality improvement agenda.

The post-holder will be expected to participate and contribute to the overall management of Podiatry services and be part of the decision making process to influence the development of the Service Strategy working alongside clinical leads.

Responsible for the competent delivery of Podiatric treatment provided by team members. This responsibility will include the planning and oversight of day-to-day organisation of service activity in line with departmental protocols and guidelines.

Will be required to participate in the Research and Development Programme and facilitate team members to participate in R&D and Professional development including academic learning.

  • BSc (Hons) in Podiatry Medicine or equivalent Diploma qualification including certificate of competency in use of local anaesthetic.
  • Professional Registration with the HCPC.
  • Management and Leadership qualifications or evidenced experience.
  • Pertinent Specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate learning and experience.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of aspects of staff/people management procedures and skills.

  • Significant experience in an appropriate clinical Podiatric position.
