We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist with skills in falls prevention strategies, specialist seating, postural care and pain management . This post serves then Swansea Care Home In reach Team team based in Ty Garngoch, Gorseinon. The role is fully integrated with a consultant - led proactive MDT. Experience in dealing with Dementia and profound communication difficulties are essential. Liaising with Care Home Managers and advising on physio related Care issues is a key part of the role.
Professionally, the role sits within the SBUHB Mental Health Physiotherapy team, and would be supported by the Clinical Lead and two other B7 Older Persons MH physiotherapists. A full time Band 4 Physiotherapy Technician works within the team.

Main duties of the job
o Provide clinical leadership for junior and support staff, through supervision and appraisal as delegated by supervisor.
o Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Physiotherapy Services within this designated area, holding responsibility for defined projects
o Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including 7-day shift pattern travel between SBU Health Board sites as required to support service delivery, with extended working hours covering 365 days of the year,
Encourage innovation and service development at all levels of the Physiotherapy Service.
o Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Swansea Bay Physiotherapy Service. Regularly supervise Physiotherapy students on practice placements, and other students e.g. Work Experience.
o Participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in developmental activities. Lead the learning and development of the clinical staff within area of expertise.
o Continue to pursue personal development in areas of clinical interest, Service Improvement and leadership and management.
