Location: Swansea Health Board Headquarters , With travel to other Trust sites within the health board area as necessary

Time Commitment:2-3 Days a Month Remuneration:Unpaid (expenses reimbursed)

We at Swansea Bay University Health Board are seeking anAssociate Member - Inclusion and Belongingto join our Board. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) to help shape our strategic direction and build on our strategic equality plan "We All Belong" ensuring that inclusion is embedded in everything we do in our Health Board.

Main duties of the job

About the Role

This is non-voting role and you will:

  • Act as a critical friend to the Board on matters of inclusion and belonging
  • Contribute to strategic discussions and decision-making
  • Help us challenge assumptions and bring fresh perspectives
  • Support the development of inclusive policies and practices
  • Champion the voices of underrepresented communities

Who We're Looking For

You may already have board level experience or alternatively you may be looking for an opportunity to gain some board level experience and have the potential and drive to be a future Independent Member. Either way you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of and commitment to inclusion, equity, and belonging
  • The ability to think strategically and contribute to high-level discussions
  • Confidence to challenge constructively and offer new ideas
  • Lived experience or professional expertise in EDI-related work
  • A collaborative and values-driven approach

We particularly encourage applications from people from underrepresented backgrounds in governance and leadership.
