Job summary

A fantastic opportunity to join the Swansea Bay Health Board Finance Team has arisen and we are looking for a proactive, strategic Finance Leader to undertake the post of Site Lead within Finance Business Partnering.

The Site Lead will provide robust and diverse strategic financial leadership to the Service Area, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

This includes:

  • Ensuring the Service Area focuses on delivering financial performance, supported by an excellent governance framework and embedding a culture of improvement with sound professional financial advice and support;
  • Ensuring the Service Area is supported in improving services for our patients to achieve better outcomes and experiences and delivering value for money; and
  • Supporting the wider Finance Business Partnering team and effectively managing the achievement of a wide range of reporting, analysis, training and support, process improvement and planning deliverables.

You will be a highly professional, self-motivated, CCAB fully qualified accountant, with substantial post qualification experience. You will be a compassionate and strategic leader and be able to effectively communicate and build strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels and have experience of dealing with difficult situations. You will have excellent interpersonal, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills and experience of working with large and complex datasets.

Main duties of the job

The Site Lead will:

  • Support the Finance Business Partnering team in providing professional financial advice, support, and information for the activities of the Service Area to enable the delivery of the Service objectives and operational plan;
  • Work closely with Service Area Budget Holders and Service Managers to provide support in the delivery of the finance agenda;
  • Provide support into the financial and business planning processes within the Service Area to ensure that the financial implications of service developments are fully identified and understood. They will contribute to efficiency and productivity improvement programmes within the Service;
  • Support the Finance Business Partnering teams in ensuring that the Service Area's financial activities and systems are in line with corporate policies and procedures and meet the highest standards of stewardship and probity and comply with corporate governance requirements;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, which facilitate the achievement of the Health Board's financial objectives.
