Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical pharmacist to join our pharmacy team at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated individual, capable of developing the pharmacy service delivered to our wards and clinics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the pharmacy service to the surgical wards.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be able to demonstrate through experience their ability to provide high level patient focussed pharmaceutical care for patients. Ideally, they will be a qualified non-medical prescriber and will be actively prescribing.
They will work alongside other 8a pharmacists and the patient services manager to identify, plan and develop new opportunities for the clinical pharmacy service. The post holder will also participate in and further develop skills in the established pharmacist led anticoagulant clinics.
The role will involve working collaboratively with clinicians, nursing staff, pharmacy colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. Providing timely, evidence-based advice to prescribers to enhance patient care and promote cost-effective use of medicines.
The post holder will participate in dispensary duties and provide clinical leadership to junior pharmacists and trainees.
The role will require the ongoing completion of core directorate activities including analysis of medicines expenditure, clinical governance audits and risk management.

- Post Graduate MSc/ Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
- Member of the GPhC.

- Accredited Tutor for clinical pharmacy diploma.
- Evidence of Leadership/ Management further learning e.g. qualification, course certificate.
