Service Manager - Burns & Plastic Surgery

Job summary

An opportunity to join the Morriston Service Group has arisen within the Surgical Specialties Directorate. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest and experience in both transformational and operational change.

As a Service Manager, on behalf of the Directorate Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational issues within Burns & Plastic Surgery to ensure the Service Group delivers on its key targets and priorities in a safe, sustainable and effective environment, including line management of administration staff.

The Service Manager will also assist the Directorate Manager in providing and developing a working environment and open culture which fosters high morale and commitment among all staff and promotes their well-being, professional and personal development.

The post holder will also support developing and implementing projects and business cases to improve cost, service delivery and patient experience to the key speciality areas and will ensure continuous improvement of performance and quality targets.

Main duties of the job

On behalf of the Divisional Manager take a management lead on the day-to-day delivery of operational clinical services. Ensuring that junior staff rotas are functional and support the delivery of modernisation targets.

Provide direct support to the Lead Clinicians in the management of demand for and supply of capacity on a day-to-day basis.
