Job summary

We are looking for an experienced innovativeCommunity Children Nurse who is an inclusive compassionate leader with a commitment and passion for children's care to join our team to lead our community children's nursing Team. Our children community nursing team sits under a wider multi disciplinary children's service within Swansea Bay University Health Board.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide forward thinking clinical and professional leadership to the community children team . This position will provide the day to day operational management of the community team , ensuring the optimal delivery of children community nursing service .

Partnership working is key and together with the Deputy Head of Nursing you will develop and implement the service strategy, ensuring staff are engaged and supported at every step.

You will be proactive in supporting the Deputy Head of Nursing in achieving both the clinical governance agenda and the national children's agenda locally in order to ensure the most effective, high quality and efficient service is provided to children and their families.

You are expected to articulate this in your interview. Strong IT skills and the ability to write reports are both essential skills for the role.

Main duties of the job

You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, experience of leadership and be able to work within a senior management team to support the wider service. Directly line managing and appraising junior members of the team.Provide visible, professional nursing leadership, support, supervision and guidance , expert clinical advice and undertake management and monitoring activities in line with legal and professional requirements and Health Board policiesBe responsible for the efficient management of the community team, effectively deploying the nursing team and utilising the allocated resources.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Appropriate experience within specialty and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant specialty

Desirable

  • BSC Community Health (Community Children Nursing)
  • Recognised leadership qualification / Experience of leading a team
  • In-depth knowledge/experience of Childrens community care and continuing care

  • Able to relate theory into practice through reflective skills Good knowledge of information governance/data protection requirements
