Job summary

The post holder will perform routine Respiratory and Sleep Diagnostics, complying with departmental standard operating procedures at all times the course of their duties;Undertake a range of routine Lung Function tests independentlyTo perform Sleep Apnoea DiagnosticsAssist senior staff in the Sleep Apnoea Therapy servicePerforms calibration and quality control procedure on all laboratory equipmentAssist senior staff in the training of junior staff, students, nurses and medical students.Work towards the ARTP Associate Professional Examination

Main duties of the job

Carry out all duties and tasks in a manner which ensures patient comfort and safety, whilst maintaining accuracy.

Be able to demonstrate a good level knowledge underpinning each of the basic tests in the department

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Two A 'Levels at Grade D or above (one of which must be a Science) l plus additional theoretical or applied training in specific discipline to diploma equivalent level
  • Relevant Healthcare Science Foundation Degree / Applied Science HND / HNC / GNVQ Advanced in Science
  • Relevant Respiratory Physiologist Experience

Desirable

  • ARTP Part 1
  • ARTP Part 2
  • ARTP Certificate in Spirometry
