Swansea Bay University Health Board currently hasa Band 4 vacancy for an Occupational Therapy Technician in the (List of services and sites).

The post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary team. The role will involve working under the occupational therapists' guidance to undertake assessment and intervention programmes with clients as delegated underpinned by appropriate experience/ knowledge.

You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service, providing you with a unique opportunity to engage in service development and change.

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, the contract hours includes a 7-day shift pattern, with extended working hours covering 365days of the year.

Main duties of the job

To be a fully engaged member of the Occupational Therapy Team providing a service within a defined area, supporting the therapists with clients who may have complex needs in a range of settings including; hospital community, patients homes, schools and outpatient settings.

To take responsibility for implementing and managing aspects of the assessment and the care and treatment programme as delegated by the Occupational Therapist in line with service protocol and frameworks.

To promote independence, health, wellbeing and safety within the community and inpatient settings adapting the clients social and physical environment to support the individual's optimum function.

Maintain clinical records and report accurately to others.

Carry out administrative duties in relation to clinical, service and departmental needs.

To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in developmental activities including completion of the Diploma of Occupational Therapy Support.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
