We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Acute Oncology CNS with strong clinical and leadership skills who is passionate about providing high quality care.
We currently have an opportunity to develop your career within our Acute Oncology Nurse Specialist team and working with a highly skilled, motivated and dynamic service to make a difference and improve the experience of patients with complications of systemic anti-cancer therapies and radiotherapy (early recognition, better treatment, early discharge).We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking individual who is flexible, self-motivated, and reliable plus a good team player and leader to become a key member of the Acute Oncology Service here at the South West Wales Cancer Centre within the Swansea Bay Health board.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to have expert knowledge and be willing to continue to develop their practice as part of the Acute Oncology Service covering Singleton and Morriston hospital. They will have a responsibility for the management of the Acute Oncology and Haematology Assessment Unit ensuring patient safety is maintained at all times, giving expert advice and maintaining patient flow. They will also be responsible for advising the Oncology and Haematology telephone triage line and will provide managerial oversight of the band 6 team of CNS.
