Job summary

An opportunity to join the Neath Port Talbot & Singleton Service Group management team has arisen within our Patient Access & Transformation team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest and experience in both transformational and operational change.

As a Directorate Manager you will play a key role in supporting the Associate Service Group Director in delivering effective leadership and management.

The posts have been designed to work with considerable freedom to act. In your role will lead on all operational issues for the directorate, ensuring Performance Management, Delivery of Service and Financial Framework Targets, Communication and Information Governance for the Directorate ensuring that there is clear and unequivocal focus on quality and safety at the core of the NPTSSG's objectives.

The Patient Access Directorate Manager is responsible for delivery and improving outpatient services, including patient registration, pathway management, outpatient utilisation and transformation of the outpatients' services within SBUHB. The post holders will oversee and be responsible for the design, configuration and operational delivery of the outpatient services including: OPD booking team, Private Patient Services and Overseas visitors, Patient Pathway Team, OPD Nursing and Reception teams for general OPD services.

Main duties of the job

Along with the operational management team the post holder will be responsible for close integration with planning, clinical, digital and application teams as part of the Outpatients Transformation Programme. This includes supporting the delivery to ensure the team execute relevant plans and deliver work on time in adherence to the established governance structure and quality standards. They will engage regularly with clinicians and operational managers, analysing service needs, and helping them to agree and deliver best practice standards, future workflows and system optimisation. They will help scope and prioritise new projects in line with the Health Boards strategic objectives and National Programmes.

The post holder will be required to work within the boundaries of organisational policy and delegated authority to make autonomous decisions to progress delivery of key objectives and areas of work

Work autonomously on own areas of work seeking support as required where technical expertise is required and escalating concerns where necessary

Take action and use their own initiative working unsupervised within defined policies and procedures to set timescales

There is also a focus on ensuring the provision of high-quality services, within available resources combined with achieving the best possible outcomes for the patients.
