Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) Team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The PEF role requires the successful candidate to be an excellent communicator, an autonomous practitioner, a team member, a good listener, well organised, motivated and adaptable.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

To support the Practice Supervisor/Practice Assessor/Academic Assessor and the student nurse.

To forge excellent working relationships with clinical colleagues and to work in partnership with academic colleagues within Swansea University and partner universities.

To deliver the NMC (2018; 2023) Standards of education

Ability to be flexible within a team setting

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing support to Practice Supervisors Practice Assessors and Academic Assessors in relation to complex decisions relating to competence, attitude and fitness to practice of Pre-Registration Student Nurses.

The post holder will be a source of expertise and provide specialised advice in relation to fitness to practice for pre-registration education within the clinical setting.

Have expert knowledge in relation to the NMC (2018;2023) Standards of education.

To support student nurses whilst in clinical practice and to ensure that the clinical learning environment is conducive to learning.

To deliver training sessions for the Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
