Job summary

The Community Nurse (School Nursing) will be involved in providing a Public Health focused service to School aged children enabling them to reach their full potential.

The Community Nurse (School Nursing) will :

Participate in the delivery of Health screening and surveillance of children and young people and participate in the School Health Immunisation Programmes

Assess, Plan and implement and evaluate health care interventions to meet health and health related needs of pupils, families, schools and communities identified from individual school profiles.

Ensure the safety and welfare of School Aged Children are of paramount importance and fundamental to supporting families

Ensure participation in the delivery of the Public Health Agenda

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable Community Nurse (School Nursing) in our School Nursing Service.

With evidenced knowledge of the current public health role and remit of School Nursing, you will have post registration recent and relevant experience of working with children & families, be ambitious to take forward the public health agenda for children & young people, possess excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be committed to providing a high quality effective service to school aged children across the SBUHB area.
