We are excited to advertise a senior education position, key to the transformation of pharmacy education and training across Swansea Bay University Health Board. We are looking for a talented pharmacist with significant post qualification experience and passion for education to lead, influence and remodel the way we train and develop our future workforce.

The post holder will be a member of the Pharmacy and Medicines Management Division's senior team, working closely with site and divisional managers to set up, deliver and monitor a sustainable training infrastructure. This will involve responsibility for multiple pharmacy education programmes; pre-registration and post registration for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. There will also be responsibility for pharmacy education delivery to medical and allied professional programmes.

The position requires engagement across multiple Health Board sites and partnership working with external Organisations and networks; Universities, Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and the All Wales Directors of Pharmacy Workforce Subgroup.

Main duties of the job

Due to existing and future transformation plans in Wales, the senior education and training pharmacist position will be dynamic and stimulating. The successful candidate will require exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills to navigate the changing landscape in education, to ensure optimal outcomes for Swansea Bay pharmacy. They will also need to demonstrate the ability to work flexibly and to succeed in this role be a strong team player.

The role will manage, lead and develop the existing leadership team in pharmacy education which includes a number of lead pharmacists and senior technicians. Our programmes are multi-site and multi-sector, requiring cross site and sector engagement. The post holder will ensure adequate governance arrangements and risk management processes are in place for the delivery of programmes and undertake income and spend analysis of the education and training budget.
