Job summary

We are a 30 bedded community Rehabilitation Unit based in the heart of Gorseinon. Our hospital supports residents within the Swansea area, with their recovery and rehabilitation following an acute admission to hospital. It is our primary goal to help our patient's to regain their independence and return home as functional as possible.

We are looking for a dynamic Registered Nurse, who is enthusiastic, a forward thinking individual to join our team to support older adults on the West Ward, Gorseinon Hospital. You will work closely as part of the multidisciplinary team; doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, healthcare support workers and pharmacists. We also work closely with our Community Reablement Team.

Main duties of the job

We will offer you the opportunity to follow our in-depth induction programme, to gain experience, develop your nursing skills, gain essential skills as a Link Nurse, regular in-house training, clinical supervision and support you with your NMC Revalidation. We are continually looking at ways to reduce admissions to the acute hospitals by enhancing the clinical skills of our nursing team. Staff are expected to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a nursing team in a setting which is predominately nurse led out of hours with support via telephone on-call form the medical teams at Morriston Hospital.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
